A clear handoff

How the connection works.

RR gathers the basics and may connect your call with an independent locksmith provider. The provider identifies itself, confirms availability, and explains the price before you decide.

The handoff

Four steps, with no hidden change of identity

The RR agent discloses the referral before connection; the provider supplies its company identity and LCO immediately after connection and before taking the job.

01

You request a connection

Share the area and the type of lock, key, door, business, or vehicle problem. Calling RR does not hire a locksmith or authorize work.

02

RR discloses and asks permission

RR states that it is an independent referral service, explains the provider’s separate role, and asks whether you want to be connected.

03

The provider identifies itself

Immediately after connection and before accepting the request, the provider states its exact business name and active California LCO license.

04

You choose whether to proceed

The provider gives its availability, arrival estimate, quote process, terms, and warranty. You may accept, decline, or seek another company.

What RR is responsible for

  • Clearly stating before connection that RR is a referral service, not the service provider.
  • Using only a partner whose business identity and active LCO license have been verified internally before activation.
  • Asking whether the caller wants to be connected to an independent provider.
  • Using the request only for the requested connection, not unrelated marketing.
  • Disclosing that RR may receive a referral or call-placement fee from the provider.

What the independent provider is responsible for

  • Immediately stating its exact business name and active LCO license after connection and before accepting the request.
  • Its license, registrations, insurance, employees, vehicles, tools, and legal compliance.
  • Verifying the customer’s authority to access the property or vehicle.
  • Stating its availability and arrival estimate, diagnosing the issue, and providing the complete quote and terms.
  • Obtaining approval, performing the work, collecting payment, and honoring its warranty.

Provider eligibility rule

A provider must not receive RR referrals until its exact business name and active California Locksmith Company license have been checked in the BSIS database and recorded. Individual workers must operate through the licensed company and hold any registration required for their role.

The provider’s verbal disclosure after connection is an additional customer-facing check, not a substitute for RR’s internal verification. Because no partner roster has been supplied yet, live calls should not be routed until at least one provider passes the internal check.

Consumer verification

California BSIS advises consumers to ask for the company license or employee registration and photo identification. Use the official BSIS license verification tool before authorizing work.
